At 6:10am (about 3hrs before I was planning to [and did] get up), some stupid gorram BUN tyen-shung duh ee-DWAY-RO evidently though it was OK to BLAST stupid Santana fei-oo at MASSIVE VOLUME in the courtyard outside our apartment. ARGH.

It was butchered Chinese, as used on Firefly. =) I figured the "gorram" would be a hint (which I guess it was, since you asked was it Firefly-ese :).

ok, now I'm pissed off.

you guys get ACTUAL subtitles on your dvds of Firefly?

all we got was [speaks galactic language]. hence my comment.

I actually have no idea, not having watched the DVDs with subtitles turned on, but I could check at some point. The web site I mentioned does seem to suggest that somebody, somewhere got subtitles, some of which gave translations to English and some of which just gave phonetic versions of the words.

I forget that people actually watch dvds without the subtitles turned on. :-)
