"Walkout" this Saturday on HBO

I had the honour of seeing "Walkout", a film by Edward James Olmos, last Sunday, as part of the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose (and in particular an event where they awarded him the "Maverick Spirit Award"). His son Bodie Olmos, Hotdog on Battlestar Galactica, was also present.

The film was really excellent, and sheds light on a significant little bit of Californian, and more broadly American, history which has apparently not been remembered in the history books (rather self-referrentially, the film says the same thing about a much earlier bit of US history).

It was made possible by HBO (which I don't have, but if I did I'd certainly record and/or watch the film again), and will be shown this Saturday, 2006.03.18. The HBO site (see below) has more information on showtimes and the like.

I strongly recommend that all of you that subscribe to HBO watch this movie!
